[Solved] Is there a difference between an Fmaj7 and an F7 chords?

Sorry, prob. stupid question but is there a difference between an Fmaj7 and an F7 (...chord, arpeggio... whatever...) ??? thanks

They are totally different chords.

Any 7th chord will have the note 1 whole step below the root in it.
ex. F  A   C   Eb
Any Maj7 chord will have the note 1/2 step below the root in it.
ex. F  A  C  E

@josh OK, I understand, it means that these two chords are different and consist of different notes even though they are both major.

F7 = dominant seventh, "bluesy". Fmaj7 = major 7th, "jazzy". (For a slightly differently flavored explanation)
